Brewer Family Law is a California Legal Document Assistant (LDA) firm, a profession formerly known as an Independent Paralegal, focused on helping everyday people access the court system in an affordable, practical, and respectful way. Authorized under California Business and Professions Code §§ 6400–6415, registered and bonded Legal Document Assistants are permitted to prepare legal documents and provide general procedural information for self-represented (pro per) clients, at the client’s direction, without giving legal advice or acting as attorneys. Lead Legal Document Assistant
Tyler Brewer is the Lead Legal Document Assistant at Brewer Family Law, supporting families throughout California’s Central Coast. He prepares and files family law and related legal documents, including divorce paperwork, child custody and support forms, QDROs, and estate planning documents, with a strong focus on accuracy, organization, and procedural compliance. Tyler holds degrees in Paralegal Studies and Psychology, along with a Master of Business Administration (MBA) and a Master Certificate in Divorce Coaching. This background allows him to combine precise document preparation with a clear, client-centered approach to navigating the paperwork involved in major life transitions. Known for his attention to detail and steady guidance, Tyler helps clients move forward with clarity and confidence while remaining in control of their legal process.
Carrie Elrod
Document Preparation Intern
Carrie Elrod is a Document Preparation Intern at Brewer Family Law, where she assists with the preparation of legal documents for family law matters, as well as trusts, wills, and other estate planning documents. Her work focuses on accurate document completion, organization, and procedural support, helping clients move their paperwork forward efficiently and with care. With several years of experience in customer service and elder care, Carrie brings strong attention to detail, clear communication, and a professional, client-focused approach to every interaction. She has completed a Paralegal Studies Program and is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science at Southern New Hampshire University.
